My view at work hasn’t changed in 8 days. (Taken with instagram)
The other day I got out of bed and had almost no motivation to do anything. I went about my usual routine of listening to either talk radio or a talk based podcast. For some strange reason, neither suited my needs. Since I don’t have a television in my room, I can’t get ready for the day in front of TV like a lot of people can. So, I threw on the only music that seemed to make me feel good. Who knew Bruce Hornsby and the Range could be so inspiring? Not kidding. It was just what I needed.
Somedays, it’s metal. Other days, it’s hip hop. I never know until I open up iTunes and scan my library. It will even take me three or four artist/genres till I hit the song that has me pegged.
So, the next time you feel a little uninspired or could use some pep, turn off the radio and LOOK for a song that fits your mood. It will make for a better day.

A little gem has some of my fingerprints on it.
My first Random Random Start: Blind Faith, “Do What You Like”
My mother first introduced this band to me when I was 15. We were on a road trip to visit my sister in Austin when she bought me the CD. Being into punk rock, I initially wrote them off as some old person hippy music. A few years later, I decided to take another listen and man am I glad that I did.
Ginger Baker kills the drums on this tune while Eric Clapton plays and sings like a badass. Steve Winwood plays some mean organ parts and makes this song really vibe.
